Advocacy and Lobbying for women’s economic and social rights is vital to promote the framework conditions required for women’s successful participation in all spheres. Asala leads nationwide advocacy campaigns to en- sure the inclusion of women in national institutions, the recognition of their contributions to economic development, and access to resources. Recent successful campaigns include a campaign to facilitate the transition of female micro and small entrepreneurs to the formal sector and increase their roles with- in private sector bodies, as well as a campaign for women’s rights to inheritance and ownership, which sought to change existing practices to counter the phenomena of inheritance deception.
